«Bridgerton» fans will have to make do without Daphne in Season 3. Actress Phoebe Dynevor leaves the series and devotes herself to other projects. However, a return at a later date is not ruled out.
Like the «Bridgerton» novels, the Netflix series always has another member of the Bridgerton family at the center of the action. In the first season, Daphne Bridgerton met Simon Bassett and fell in love with him, in the second season Anthony Bridgerton met Kate Sharma, and in the third season we see the complicated relationship between Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton.
Of course, the other «Bridgerton» siblings are always around, but in Season 3 we’ll have to make do without Daphne. In an interview with Screenrant, Phoebe Dynevor revealed that she fulfilled her contractual obligations after Season 2 and therefore will not be filming Season 3.
Dynevor adds that she could potentially return in later seasons, but right now it looks like she’s moving on to other projects. Dynevor’s latest film, the erotic thriller Fair Game, was just bought by Netflix at the Sundance Film Festival and is due for release on the streaming service later this year. Daphne’s disappearance in Bridgerton season 3 is easily explained by the move, because Rager-Jean Page, who played Daphne Simon’s great love, left the series after just one season and is also not seen in the series again.
