Can I Control Spotify With Voice Assistant?

Voice assistants, despite their relatively recent appearance, have already become familiar and reliable assistants. Spotify may well be controlled by the familiar and most common voice assistants.

If you want to control Spotify with your voice without the hassle of Alexa or Google Assistant, you can now ask the Spotify mobile app to play your favorite songs without even lifting a finger.

All three popular voice assistants work in conjunction with the music streaming service Spotify. To do this, however, you must first link your Spotify account to the respective platform. For example, if you want to control your favorite music using Google voice commands, you need to link your account to your Google device. But don’t worry, it’s quick and easy to set up in five simple steps:

1. Open the Google Home app.

2. Click the account icon in the lower right corner.

3. Click on Settings.

4. Click the “Services” tab and select “Music”.

5. Now click on Spotify and click on “Link Account”.

If you prefer to work with Amazon Alexa or Apple Siri, this is of course possible too. Linking to your Spotify account is just as easy here, and it’s not much different from setting up with Google above. This way, you can enjoy it to the fullest and control your music selection, volume and more with your voice command.

Voice control has been popular for a long time. But you need to clearly understand which commands this or that voice assistant responds to. Each of them has its own characteristics, their advantages and disadvantages. By the way, the Swedish streaming service has developed its own in-platform voice assistant, which is already working today. But the use of this assistant is still limited to the short list of countries. Naturally, Spotify’s voice assistant can only be used by subscribers to the premium version of this music streaming app.
