Deezer Or Spotify: Which Is Better?

The music streaming platforms Spotify and Deezer are indeed very similar in many ways. Both offer millions of songs, mobile apps, family plans, and super useful amenities for music lovers—whether you’re listening online or offline.

On Spotify, you can listen for free with ads between tracks and some restrictions. Music and podcasts are available, but offline listening (song downloads) is not possible, and on-demand access (by tracks and albums) is limited to playlists on mobile phones.

On Deezer it works the same way. On mobile, access to Flow and Mixes (lists) only, with ads, no downloads, and standard sound quality for free use.

If you want to pay, there is no shortage of options. Paying unlocks unlimited mobile access, downloads songs and podcasts for offline listening, removes ads, and provides some additional features for listening to music abroad (on the go) and with the whole family on Deezer for up to six people. You can also skip as many songs as you like.

Both music streaming services offer 30 days free so you can decide if you want to stay premium.

Basically, both apps are available on all platforms. Some apps for cars, smart TVs, keys, and connected speakers may differ.

So, when comparing these music streaming services, there is no such a bright competitive advantage that would immediately add points to one of them. Therefore, it is recommended that you immediately try the free version of each of the streaming services, and then decide which one suits you best and decide on its use.

At first, music services tried to work exclusively, albeit temporarily, with a few artists. Tidal followed suit, focusing primarily on Beyoncе and Jay-Z releases. But in general, the most popular artists and groups are on both platforms (and other competitors). Usually when you don’t have something in one of them (Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music or Tidal), you don’t have it in any of them.

Spotify says it has over 70 million songs available to free and paid users. Deezer has 73 million songs in its catalog. The platforms claim that all millions of tracks are available worldwide. However, Deezer’s FAQ section warns that currently unavailable artists, albums and songs may be restricted to countries and regions through licensing.
