Glastonbury canceled for second year in a row due to pandemic

Glastonbury is the main music festival in the UK. This is an important event not only in the British, but also in the global music industry. And for the second time in a row, this most important music forum is canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. This is what its organizers recently stated, expressing regret about the inability to meet with music fans this year.

For those music lovers who have hastened and have already managed to purchase tickets for the Glastonbury-2021, it remains possible to use them in the next year, 2022.

Earlier, even before the decision to cancel, the organizers had already announced that Paul McCartney would lead the main stage one day. The festival was supposed to take place in June.

In 2019, the event attracted 175 thousand visitors, in particular, The Cure, Stormzy and The Killers performed at it.

The decision to cancel the event will be nervously received by the entire music industry, which still hopes to return to live concerts in 2021.

Recall that since the beginning of the pandemic, the entire concert industry of the world has been in crisis. The summer of 2020 passed without major musical events of a global scale. In the fall, single concerts began to be held with restrictions, but after the start of the second wave of the pandemic, everything was closed again.
