How To Use Offline Mode In Spotify?

With its music streaming service, Spotify offers you a huge selection of music, radio shows and podcasts. In our guide, we will show you how to listen or download files, so you can access your favorite song offline.

The Spotify music streaming service provides you with a large music collection. If you don’t want to be without your favorite playlists on the road or on vacation, you can download them.

To be able to download media content from Spotify, you need Spotify Premium. It costs €10.99 per month, or you and your family can get Premium Family for €16.99 per month, but up to six people can use Spotify with their own accounts.

On the other hand, there may be some data traffic when downloading music files, so you should follow the steps in the following instructions to upload your Spotify collection to your home Wi-Fi network.

  1. If you call the Spotify app on your smartphone or tablet, you will get a selection of music offerings and new releases.
  2. Scroll through the app to discover new music based in part on the music you’ve been listening to.
  3. Click on the menu in the upper left corner with three overlay bars and on “Search” if you want to find a specific song or artist.

You can download music and songs to your smartphone

To do this, you need to take a few simple steps:

  1. Simply activate the “Available Offline” slider and Spotify will automatically download the selected music.
  2. Once downloaded, you can see which songs are available for offline use by the green download symbol next to the music name.

In order to play the saved music, you just need to do the following:

  1. You can find your saved and downloaded music in “Library” which can be accessed through the menu in the top left corner.
  2. Go further to “Albums” where you will see a list of your music albums, which you can also filter by title using the search bar at the top.

If you want to be sure that no mobile data is being used when using Spotify, you can activate offline mode in the settings. Then you can only access downloaded songs and albums.

Using Spotify offline will be very convenient for you if, for example, there is a need to limit your mobile data consumption. For example, you are on a long trip, or you just experience a lack of traffic. In this case, you can safely turn off the Internet and use your smartphone in a completely offline mode.

This mode is also relevant on an airplane, where you will be asked to put your smartphone into flight mode, where the Internet will not be available to you.

As a reminder, only premium subscribers can take advantage of the ability to download songs and use the offline Swedish music streaming service. Spotify has paid and free versions. The free version is good for everyone, it provides access to the entire library of the service. But for the user of this version, the lack of costs will be clearly compensated in a negative sense by the abundance of intrusive advertising, limiting the number of passes per hour and the inability to download songs offline.

If you are planning to switch to any other music streaming service, then do not worry about the safety of your music collection. It can be easily transferred from one platform to another using a specialized application MusConv.
