Last year, the popular Japanese rock band GRANRODEO turned 15 years old. In the summer of 2021, the first online broadcast of her concert will take place. In February, the group continued energetic and effective activities, including a successful performance at several festivals.
The band’s new mini-album, entitled «Our Group Image», which was released on March 10, is a large video clip with a very original storyline.
Musicians gained popularity outside the stage, combining rock and anime songs. Taking advantage of the familiar style that has been cultivated on the stage so far, the directors approached the new decision creatively. This work is designed to create a new image of the group, it is associated with a new musical expression, which has never existed before. The biggest feature of this work is that the new song is written on the basis of a short film based on the original script, in which the music very organically fit.
The starting point was thinking: «In a situation where live performances are difficult to conduct, what way can and should be chosen?» Studying various ideas, the musicians came up with an image that creates an original video and combines GRANRODEO music with it. The song was written as an insert reflecting the emotions of the characters of the original and exciting story. At the same time, it was created simultaneously as an album of soundtracks.
