The sphere of music streaming is constantly evolving. Almost every year, dozens of new applications appear, and all of them work on the same principles. Despite this, the same top services remain at the top of all such platforms. One of these platforms is the popular music service Tidal.
This streaming application is owned by famous rapper and producer Jay Z. It is also co-owned by some western celebrities such as Rihanna and Kanye West. Exactly the collaboration of the platform with global stars gives the listener a number of following advantages:
- access to unique publications (both old and new) from the co-owning stars;
- new tracks and releases that artists publish first appear on Tidal;
- the quality of the content is higher than on other similar platforms.
In general, when it comes to quality, it is one of the main features of this music streaming service. Tidal focuses on music lovers of high-quality sound. It has a database of 70 million tracks in FLAC/ALAC formats. There’s also a music video database (more than 250,000 music video clips and concert videos).
To listen to music in Hi-Fi quality you’ll need to pay quite a decent price, compared to other similar services. So, a hi-fi subscription costs $19.99 per month. There is also the option of listening to music using a Premium subscription. This version is cheaper and costs $9.99. But many users do not see much point in paying for this kind of subscription. The reason is that it offers the same sound quality as other services but at a higher price.
What about Tidal Free? Of course, the question on everyone’s mind is whether you can listen to quality music for free. Well, you have that opportunity if you start your free trial period. It lasts for 30 days long and you don’t have any listening restrictions.
There is also an option to listen to music (unfortunately, in standard quality only) with Tidal Access. However, you will have access to some sections to listen to only. To do this you need to go into the application, sign up, and select the unsubscription option. Unfortunately, there are no other options for the free use of Tidal apart from the two mentioned above.
